To love or to list. That is the question at the heart of nearly 250 episodes of the HGTV hit Love It or List It, which returns for its 20th season on Monday, April 21 at 10pm ET/ 9pm CT. The climax of each episode features homeowners facing a fateful decision about whether to stay in their newly-remodeled home, or to put it on the market and move into new digs. That means for the two hosts, there’s a win/ loss score to keep, but according to the realtor David Visentin, it’s not one he’s interested in keeping track of.

“Why would I do that? That's just bad dreams waiting to happen,” he says when asked if he keeps a tally of how many episodes he’s “won.” Visentin is right about the bad dreams - according to House Beautiful, the total is 140 for “Love It” and stay, 96 for “List It” and move. Despite learning that he loses almost ⅔ of the time, Visentin isn’t mad.

“That makes sense. People don't like to move. I don't know anybody that's ever said, 'Oh my God, we moved today, it was fantastic,'” he says with a smile.

Visentin has the chance to wipe his slate clean with season 20 of Love It or List It. That’s because he’ll have a new cohost following the departure of Hilary Farr in 2023. Page Turner, who has appeared on HGTV shows like Rock the Block, Fix My Flip, and more, takes over for Farr. The competitive but playful dynamic that fans are used to seeing is still there between Turner and Visentin, but Turner sees herself having at least one advantage that Farr never enjoyed.

“It's still a competition, but it's a competition with somebody I've been watching for… sorry, like half my life,” she says with a laugh. “So I have a little one up because I felt like I knew [David] before I met [him] because I've known [the show] for so long.”
